4 Steps to Your Best Life

4 Steps to Your Best Life

It is time to dream again. And not dream for dreaming sake,
but to believe you have a vision from God, who cannot lie!

Imagine with me, it’s December 31st, you’re standing in Time Square and the ball is about to drop. The faint music of Auld Lang Syne (which means days gone by), melodically drifts through the air. 2022 has concluded. You kiss the one you love, and declare, THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE!

What would have had to happened in order for that statement to be true?

    • Did you reach an educational goal or land that perfect job?
    • Did you finish a renovation project and organize your house from top to bottom?
    • Did you save $10,000 dollars and take that dream vacation?
    • Did you have a child, or move one out of the house?
    • Did you finish that book you’ve wanted to write for years?
    • Or perhaps you reached your health goals and hit that elusive benchmark!

Whatever it was for you, I am confident of this, reaching challenging goals didn’t happen by accident!

You reached your God-given dreams and goals because you became serious and strategic about your life. You liberated your creative self to not only dream, but you harnessed your inner strength to discipline yourself and create powerful habits.

You developed a prayerful plan and submitted it to God, and His vision for your life captivated your heart.

If you made that statement about the New Year being your BEST Year, then you became laser-focused and that focus drew you closer and closer to your goals until they became a reality!

Is that how it went for you last year? Maybe not.

Perhaps you felt disappointed in yourself. You may even be disgusted by the circumstances that surround you. Good! It’s time to reach the “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” moment. It is time to dream again. And not dream for dreaming sake, but to believe you have a vision from God, who cannot lie!

God is the one who designed us to dream and He calls us to be clear on what we want to accomplish in life.

God’s Word says;
Psalms 20:4 – May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

And in Psalms 37:4 – Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Another way to interpret this verse is to say, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will PUT desires in your heart.”

The word desire means “of the sire” or “of the father.”

“... that strong impulse to achieve something is actually the ‘something' already in you, seeking to come out!” - Derek Rydall

So here are 4 ways you can have a NEW year, not just ANOTHER year!

1. Solidify A Clear Vision

If you ask most people, they cannot tell you what they want or where they are headed. Stats around this principle are staggering, 98% of people do not have a written vision.

God is clear on this:
Prov. 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Vision keeps you alive! It is what drives you. What makes your heart burn within you.

If you need help discovering a vision for your life, a good first step is my course, “Brand New Me in 2023.”

2. Write Your Vision Down and Put it in Plain Sight

Science tells us if we write something down, we are 42% more likely to accomplish the thing! We know this, yet we don’t write our vision down.

Another study showed 16% of people have goals but never write them down. The 3% who do have goals AND write them down, never look at those goals again. Only 1% of people write their goals and review them over and over again.

When you look at your vision you are becoming what you behold.

3. Develop a Morning Routine

Your success is found in your daily routine. How are your daily habits helping or hurting you? If you’re not sure, you must take an inventory of how you spend your mornings. The secret to success is found right here!

Getting up early doesn’t make things easy, it just makes them happen! Waking up earlier than usual will give you ample time to focus on your goals and conquer the day with more energy, mindfulness and strength.

4. Pray Over Your Plans and Ask For Favor

Prov. 16:9 – In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

God expects us to make plans, to know what dreams lie deep within our hearts. When we commit our plans to him and add action to our faith, just watch what God will do!

“Vision, without steps of action, can only remain in the heart. But a Vision, combined with a plan and our courageous steps of action, make our vision become a reality." – Dawn Damon
